Deliciosa opened its doors in December 2007, the small converted ‘deli’ overflowed alfresco-style into a carpark to  capture the best of the sublime Hawke's Bay climate. Owner Sarah Watson has envisioned and delivered continuous culinary, beverage and space refinement.

Today’s Deliciosa settles across a delicious space designed to embrace the essence of its host region. Lazy beanbags on the front lawn lie next to a stunning vine-dappled terrace with entry to a long slender wine-up bar alongside festive banquette setting which flows through to the leather cosiness of the intimate green room. Capacity is restricted to 100 in order to balance a lazy village vibe with attentive hosting.

The Deliciosa experience encompasses completeness, and an award-winning ingredient is the guests themselves. A go-to for village regulars, tired thirsty winemakers, the region’s hospitality industry and well-informed out-of-towners. This is not the place for home delivery, this is the place to reboot one’s pleasure settings, this is the place just to be.

Sarah’s guiding philosophy begins and ends with great service, wrapped around clever fresh plates and a beverage range for which her fussy nose has been known to pique the ego of the occasional proud winemaker. What started as the provision of a little ‘South of Spain’ experience, Deliciosa is now more where great worldly things are infused with regional brilliance.
